A common misconception about foggy or yellow headlights is that the appearance is happening on the inside of the lens (most of the time this is not the case).
The Ultimate Headlight Restoration Process

Start with 400-800 Grit Sandpaper: this will remove all of the yellow gunk and create a slurry​

Sand headlight with 1000 Grit: at this point we are removing less oxidation and starting to refine the previous sanding marks

Sand headlight with 1500 Grit: you will start to see a noticeable difference in clarity

Sand headlight with 2000 Grit

Sand headlight with 2500 Grit: this will be the final stage of sanding before moving onto removing the sanding marks

Compound the headlights: using a cutting disc, heavy cut compound, and a machine polisher, we will remove the sanding marks

Polish the headlights: this is going to refine the surface and make it as clear as possible using a polishing pad and polish.

Protect the headlights: for protection we will apply a ceramic coating to the headlights which will prevent them from fading for up to a year.
By sanding the headlights before deciding to polish them, we remove the old layer of clear coat that has failed and oxidized (which creates that yellow-foggy look). Than we will compound and polish them to remove those sanding marks to bring clarity. Finally we will protect your headlights by applying a 1 year ceramic coating.
